Maja Raemakers

Driven by a deep-rooted passion for nature and fossil hunting, Maja Raemakers' interest has evolved into a dedicated focus on ecology, biodiversity, and ecosystem restoration. During her studies in Biology at Wageningen University & Research (WUR), her growing curiosity about pollinators and vegetation led to contributions to a variety of exciting projects. From studying the endemic Cypriot plant Brassica hilarionis and its associated pollinators, to examining how grassland restoration in Latvia affects wild bee fauna. More recently, she worked as a research assistant at WUR, monitoring bumblebee migration patterns and expanding her focus on the understanding and conservation of pollinators.

Maja will be on Saba from January 1-15, 2026. We will be updating our calendar with activity dates and times as we continue to coordinate our event. Stay tuned!
