Peggy Barnes

Peggy Barnes was born and raised on Saba in the village of St. Johns. She learned how to make Saba Lace from her mother at 12 years old. However, she started making borders for it even younger. Like many girls at the time, she helped her mother sell Saba Lace and export it to other countries like the United States.

Peggy worked at Corner Import for twelve years. Now, she is one of the regular Thursday afternoon Saba Lace Ladies who helps pass on this special skill to future generations.
