Wim Arp

With an interest in plants, Wim studied biology and graduated in plant ecology. He did his Ph.D. working on the effects of increased CO2 levels on plants at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center. The last 25 years he moved to insects. Starting with studying dragonflies and butterflies, the interest moved to smaller insects such as hover flies, and the last 15 years he is mainly working on bees and wasps. The species of interest are still getting smaller for he is now working on small parasitic wasps only a few millimeters tall.

Wim will be on Saba from March 14-28, 2025. We will be updating our calendar with activity dates and times as we continue to coordinate our event. Stay tuned!
