Adrian Delnevo
...sneaked into lectures by the Nobel Laureate, Professor Niko Tinbergen, at Oxford University when he was a very young teenager, and has been hooked on animal population ecology, conservation biology and animal behavior ever since. Originally trained as a teacher, Adrian subsequently spent years leading ecological scientific expeditions around the world, involving a broad range of species and habitats and gained a Ph.D. in seabird population ecology along the way. He lead the conservation science of one of Europe’s most endangered seabirds, the roseate tern, and spent five years studying them throughout Europe and following them around their African ‘winter’ quarters. Scientific oversight of numerous endangered species and conservation projects throughout Europe and Africa lead to him being invited to the USA to provide scientific litigation support for ecological and natural resource legal cases.
Adrian sits on numerous National and International Scientific oversight committees, is an Adjunct Professor, a Research Fellow, Visiting Professor and contributor to universities, non-governmental organizations and governmental institutions throughout the Caribbean, U.S.A., and Europe. Between the natural resource litigation scientific support (his day job), research on terns, tropic birds and Audubon shearwater, broader biodiversity priorities, training and challenges throughout the Caribbean, Adrian enjoys occasional day spent fly-fishing for trout on a mountain stream.
